Identifying Purpose of Collection

When you book a vacation with CanadianTravel.com, you will be required to provide certain personal information to complete your transaction.  This may include name, address, telephone number, credit card number and expiry date.  The information is required to identify you, in order to contact you, if necessary, and to complete the process of your purchase.  We also request your gender as it is required for the airlines to estimate the total load of the plane.

If you request a specific service, we may need to collect additional personal information. This includes requests for special meals, applicability of special discounts (if any), special assistance for passengers, and travel by unaccompanied minors.

CanadianTravel.com email offers

When you book your travel at CanadianTravel.com, you may choose to be added to our email list which will be used to contact you occasionally with offers that we feel will be of interest to you.  If you do not want CanadianTravel.com to contact you with offers, you may withdraw your consent at any time simply by sending an email to info@CanadianTravel.com requesting that we stop sending email offers. If you later change your mind, it is just as simple to opt back in to the email offers of your choice. In addition, all emails sent to you by CanadianTravel.com contain simple instructions telling you how to "unsubscribe".

When you book your travel at CanadianTravel.com, the fact of your doing so provides CanadianTravel.com with your implied consent to use your information to fulfil your request.

If you opt in to one or more of CanadianTravel.com's email offers, you are consenting to allow CanadianTravel.com to contact you regarding those offers.

You may withdraw your consent at any time, simply by following the instructions on how to "unsubscribe" contained in all emails sent by CanadianTravel.com.

Limiting Collection

CanadianTravel.com will limit the collection of personal information to that which is necessary to fulfil the purpose for which it was collected.

CanadianTravel.com uses contractual and other means to ensure that your personal information is afforded protection that meets the requirements of PIPEDA, whenever a third party agent is used to complete some or all the stages of processing necessary to complete your travel transaction.

Limiting Use, Disclosure and Retention

CanadianTravel.com will not use or disclose your personal information for purposes other than those for which it was collected, without your explicit consent or as required by law.  You should understand that all airlines, including those used by CanadianTravel.com, are required by new security laws in the U.S. and several other countries to give border control agencies access to passenger data.  Accordingly, any information we hold about you and your travel arrangements may be disclosed to customs and immigration authorities of any country in your itinerary, if it is required by law.

Customer information is retained for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected.

Changes to the Privacy Policy

This policy takes effect on February 21, 2005. CanadianTravel.com reserves the right to modify this privacy statement at any time, so please review it frequently.  If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you on our website so that you are aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we disclose it.
