Day 1 Los Angeles departures.

This evening, board your flight bound for Auckland,New-Zealand.

Day 2 Inflight.

Cross the international dateline and “lose” a day.

Day 3 Auckland, New Zealand.

Arrive Auckland with a chance to relax before this afternoon’s sightseeing. Tonight, enjoy a special welcome dinner hosted by your Tour Director. Auckland Crowne Plaza (D)

Day 4 Rotorua/Traditional Feast.

Enjoy a guided boat tour of the glow-worm grotto this morning at Waitomo Caves. Continue to the thermal region of Rotorua where you are a guest at a special “hangi” dinner and Maori concert. Millennium Rotorua (2 nights) (B,D)

Day 5 Rotorua/Homestay Option.

We tour Te Puia Thermal Reserve, viewing its boiling mudpools, hot springs and teaming geysers. See an agricultural show and sheep shearing display at the Agrodome, then continue to Rainbow Springs to view the rare flightless Kiwi bird. Later, you can choose to experience the charms of rural living with a genuine New Zealand country family. Day 6 Rotorua/Christchurch.

Day 7 Southern Alps/Franz Josef.

Board the TranzAlpine Train for our journey through spectacular alpine scenery in the Southern Alps. Continue down the rugged west coast with an opportunity

Day 8 Queenstown.

Take in magical alpine scenery as we drive over Haast Pass, then along the shores of Lakes Wanaka and Hawea. This evening cruise aboard the vintage steamer TSS Earnslaw to historic Walter Peak Station for dinner. Enjoy the stunning view over Queenstown and out to the Remarkable Mountain Ranges. Day 9 Milford Sound Cruise.

The beauty of Fiordland National Park will be memorable today as we cruise beautiful Milford Sound, beneath tumbling waterfalls and famous Mitre Peak. An optional return flight to Queenstown will provide a completely different perspective over this untamed region ($). (B,L)

Day 10 Queenstown/Mt. Cook.

This morning is at leisure before our afternoon journey to Mt. Cook National Park with New Zealand’s highest peak. To one side is the mighty Tasman Glacier and weather permitting, you can take in the spectacular sight during a ski-plane flight ($). The Hermitage (B,D)

Day 11 Christchurch/Sydney, Australia.

Travel via Lake Pukaki, Lake Tekapo and Burkes Pass, then through the picturesque plains of Canterbury to Christchurch. Board our international flight bound for Sydney, Australia. 14 day tour clients join the group in Sydney, Australia. Shangri-La Hotel Sydney (3 nights) (B)

Day 12 Sydney/Breakfast with the koalas/City sights/Harbour cruise.

This morning, enjoy a truly unique breakfast with the koalas at a wildlife park.
Then see Sydney’s iconic sights on a tour of the city and its surrounding beaches. Later, take a luncheon cruise on Sydney’s harbour for great views of the famous Harbour Bridge and Opera House, then enjoy a guided tour of the Sydney Opera House. (B,L)

Day 13 Sydney.

Relax and enjoy cosmopolitan Sydney at your own pace today. Perhaps take an
optional sightseeing tour to the Hunter Valley or the Blue Mountains ($), stroll the famous Rocks area or visit the exclusive Queen Victoria Shopping Complex. Dinner tonight has been left free for you to further explore the many delights of Sydney. (B)

Day 14 Sydney/Melbourne.

A short flight brings us to Melbourne. On arrival, take in the attractions including Victoria Market, Parliament House and beautiful Fitzroy Gardens. Experience the

Day 15 Melbourne.

You may choose a leisurely breakfast before stepping out to explore Melbourne. Stroll down to Southgate on the Yarra River, visit the city’s exclusive shopping
arcades or perhaps an optional tour to Victoria’s famous Great Ocean Road or the Penguin Parade at Phillip Island ($). (B)

Day 16 Melbourne/Alice Springs.

Morning flight to Alice Springs. On arrival, take a tour of this famous “Outback” town located close to the very centre of the vast Australian continent. Visit the base of the Royal Flying Doctor Service, see the old Telegraph Station and enjoy views of the town from Anzac Hill. Tonight enjoy our special Outback dinner and an Aboriginal performance. Day 17 Alice Springs/Uluru (Ayers Rock)/Kata Tjuta (Olgas).

Test your camel riding skills this morning as we stop at a Camel Farm ($). Our drive continues south to Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park, and the Olgas (Kata Tjuta), 36 rocky domes dominating the western skyline of the park. Early evening as the sun sets over Uluru, listen to tunes of the didgeridoo and experience the famous “Sounds of Silence” - an unforgettable memory of dining in the solitude of the desert (extra $147 CAD). Day 18 Uluru/Cairns.

Day 19 Dunk Island.

Your island home for the next two nights is tropical Dunk Island, located in the clear blue waters of the Coral Sea. The afternoon is free to relax or enjoy the

Day 20 Great Barrier Reef Cruise.

The beauty of the Great Barrier Reef is a sight to behold as we spend the day at lovely Beaver Cay. Opportunity to swim, snorkel and join the glass bottom

Day 21 Kuranda/Scenic Railway/Cairns.

Departing Dunk Island, follow the coastline north to Cairns. Journey to Kuranda, a picturesque mountain rainforest retreat. Enjoy some time to explore the lush surroundings and perhaps wander through the local markets then ride the Kuranda Scenic Railway through the rainforest and back down the mountain range to Cairns, where tonight you’ll say goodbye to your fellow travelers at a Farewell Dinner in Cairns.
